Naoko is completely infatuated with the supernatural world and things such as ghosts, monsters, superstitions, and the like. She has a HUGE imagination, and it just about leads her anywhere. In one episode where Sakura was trying to catch the Create card, it fell into Naoko's hands as a book. In the book, the reader becomes the writer, and they are able to write whatever they want. However, Naoko never realizes that the things she writes down in the book become real. All kinds of strange creatures from polka dotted tigers to flying elephants appear, and at the end of the episode, Sakura ends up having to fight a humongous dragon that Naoko created without knowing, before the monster is able to completely destroy Tomoeda.
A lot of the times, Naoko tells her friends about some kind of rumors that she heard, and she ends up completely freaking out Sakura. Sakura is just about the exact opposite of Naoko, because she is terrified of the unknown, and monsters such as ghosts. She just doesn't want anything to do with them. Naoko, on the other hand, is always ready to claim that a strange happening around town is because of a strange, supernatural being or something like that. In one of the episodes, there is a rainstorm in Tomoeda, where the rain doesn't stop for days. Naoko's first theory about it is, "Could this be... a supernatural phenomenon?!" Then she is fooled by one of Yamazaki's many fibs, as he goes on to explain how flying penguins were said to be supernatural phenomenon. ¬¬ |
