Sakura and Shaolan's battle outfits were very stylish, especially Shaolan's. Touya dressed up as a giant bunny (which looked a lot like the bunnies in Miyuki-chan in Wonderland and Wish, two other series by CLAMP) was also an added treat. The character designs were great, and the animation was smooth and colorful. Did I mention the music was great? Tomoyo had a solo, "Koko ni Kitte," Sakura also had a solo, "Arigatou," and then there was the ending credits, which features the song, "Ashita e no Melody." The soundtrack was as good as the first movie's soundtrack, and that's quite a feat, considering the fact that first movie soundtrack was absolutely amazing, a mixture of both Chinese and Japanese culture. The only thing that I must say I didn't like about the movie was the ending. I won't spoil it, but I must say it wasn't too effective. It could have been a bit more different and more fulfilling to fit the end of the series, but I guess it was alright. Overall, the movie was very enjoyable. When comparing it to the first movie, I must say I enjoyed the first movie better, because it was more original in that we got to meet Shaolan's family, and it was based off of the scenery and culture in Hong Kong. But The Sealed Card is still a very good movie, and is very well worth your time, especially if you're a hard core CCS fan and won't miss the finale of the series for the world. |
